Pr. Laurie Beaudonnet

Laurie Beaudonnet is Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science of the University of Montreal. She holds a doctoral degree in political and social sciences from the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). She is specialized in European studies and works on political attitudes and public opinions in the EU context. Her research includes the logics of support and opposition to the European integration, their evolution over time, and elections in a multi-level governance framework. Her work focuses on comparisons of both national contexts and individual dimensions, and has been published in leading international academic journals, such as the Journal of Common Market Studies, Politique européenne and Party Politics.

She is also scientific director of the Jean Monnet Centre Montréal as well as director of the RESTEP. She is also a member of the Montreal Centre for International Studies (CÉRIUM) and the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSDC).

Project Management

Other Europe(s): study of the meaning given to the European project by citizens in the context of the economic crisis, in three countries: Italy, France, and Ireland. Financed by the Fonds Québécois de la recherche sur la société et la culture.

Mapping and Explaining Anti-Roma Prejudice in the EU 28 (MARP) : study of the representation of the Roma in European media (23 countries) and of its impact on the attitudes towards this minority. Co-directed with Allison Harell (UQÀM) and Roxana Barbulescu (University of Southampton). Financed by the CSDC.
